Starting and Sustaining a School Garden

A workshop designed for hands-on teachers, paraprofessionals, parents & volunteers 

When: Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Where: TBAISD Career-Tech Center, 880 Parsons Rd., Traverse City, MI 49686, (231) 922-6273

What: Participants will learn to plan, maintain and run a school garden while integrating it into the curriculum. From gardening basics to building a garden team and trying out classroom lessons and activities, this workshop is for educators interested in hands-on teaching tools. School garden activities will be presented as a strategy for meeting curriculum content expectations as in the Common Core and Michigan Model Nutrition Standards.

Cost: $75.00 per person. Lunch & resource materials will be provided. SCECHs available upon approval
