Oryana 10 Cents a Meal Fundraiser

About 10 Cents a Meal

Schools typically have only 20 to 30 cents per meal to spend on produce. In this program, just $1 will put flavorful, locally grown fruits and veggies on the lunch trays of 10 school children for a day. $10 will provide produce for 100 kids--about four classes full of children bursting with energy and ready to learn. $100 will add local produce for almost a week at a typical school.

On Friday, May 10, Oryana will donate 3% of the proceeds of store sales to 10 Cents a Meal for School Kids & Farms, a collaborative effort of the nonprofit Michigan Land Use Institute's farm to school program to help area schools purchase and serve a "rainbow" of locally grown fruits and vegetables.

Extra bonus: Dick Evans, the wonderful children's book author of "Discover the Magic of Rainbows," will be on hand to sign his book!

You can also give online to 10 Cents a Meal, and join this effort to support kids and the local economy. Spread the word and learn more at mlui.org/10Cents
