What: Eighth Street Block Party

When: September 26 at 5:30 pm

Where: Governmental Center Parking Lot
400 Boardman Avenue, Traverse City, MI

What: You’re invited to celebrate a new vision for Traverse City’s Eighth Street next week Friday in the Governmental Center (400 Boardman Avenue) parking lot.

If you’ve been around Traverse City’s Eighth Street area this week, you’ve noticed some changes. The four-lane stretch between Lake and Woodmere is now a single car lane in each direction, a single bike lane in each direction, and a center turn lane.

The “road diet” trial is intended to test different road designs before the City reconstructs the road before 2018.

On Friday September 26, join neighbors and businesses along Traverse City’s Eighth Street to celebrate and learn more about the new temporary street design, new bike lanes and new vision for one of the city’s often-neglected districts.
