Roar of the Crowd: Exploring MI's New Crowdfunding Law

When: Wednesday, June 18 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Where: Traverse Area District Library

What: There’s a new law in Michigan that offers significant opportunities for businesses and social enterprises to fund local entrepreneurial projects in new ways. Subject to certain restrictions, The MILE Act (Michigan Invests Locally Exemption) enables businesses to publicly advertise investment opportunities to non-accredited Michigan investors. On June 18, MLUI is hosting a special presentation with the experts who helped create the law and are beginning to use it downstate. They’ll explain how it works, share innovative ideas for implementation, and discuss what it could mean for northern Michigan businesses and investors.
