The Michigan Land Use Institute began as the Manistee County Land Use Coalition, to address the pace and scale of Antrim Shale gas development in rural northern Michigan. MCLUC now is a project of the Institute. The acronym is pronounced 'muk-luk,' as in the soft-soled moccasin that steps lightly and respectfully on the earth. The MCLUC Reporter has been incorporated into the Great Lakes Bulletin as an ongoing special section on oil and gas drilling. |
